Sustainability — ArtifactShop

Sustainability through ArtifactShop uses Ghanaian artefacts, souvenirs, cultural products and creative merchandise to generate income for First Klass Foundation’s public-benefit work.

This service supports two purposes at once. First, it celebrates Ghanaian and African heritage by making cultural products available to the diaspora, UK communities and online supporters. Secondly, it creates a lawful and sustainable income stream that can help fund Food Support, Water Support, Shelter Support and wider community impact.

Artefacts can also support artists, makers, cultural educators, small traders and creative entrepreneurs by creating a platform for cultural products, storytelling and heritage promotion.

Target groups supported:

  • Ghanaian and African diaspora communities

  • UK supporters interested in African culture

  • artists, makers and cultural traders

  • young creatives and entrepreneurs

  • event attendees and online customers

  • vulnerable people who benefit from reinvested proceeds

Expected impact:

  • increased income for community-support work

  • stronger promotion of Ghanaian and African heritage

  • support for creative enterprise and cultural pride

  • more sustainable fundraising beyond one-off donations

  • increased visibility for cultural products and makers

  • reinvestment into vulnerable individuals and communities
