Water Support

Clean Water Support Programme — Rural Ghana

First Klass Foundation supports vulnerable communities in Ghana, especially villages and low-income areas affected by unsafe water, poor access to clean water, and pollution linked to illegal mining and environmental degradation. The programme focuses on helping families, children, schools, and community groups access safer drinking water and basic hygiene support.

The need remains serious. In 2024, only 43% of Ghana’s population used safely managed drinking water services. Pollution has made the situation worse in some areas, with Ghana’s Parliament reporting that some water systems affected by illegal mining recorded turbidity levels between 5,000 and 12,000 NTU, far above the normal treatment threshold of 500 NTU. Some treatment plants in affected areas, including Tarkwa, have also had to shut down at certain points due to severe pollution. (sdg6data.org)

Through this programme, First Klass Foundation aims to support communities with clean water access, water storage containers, borehole support where possible, water purification solutions, hygiene education, school/community awareness, and emergency support for villages whose rivers, streams, or water sources have been polluted.

Appeal for Support

We are seeking funding, donations, technical partners, churches, businesses, and community supporters to help provide clean and safer water for affected communities in Ghana. Support may include borehole funding, water filters, storage tanks, purification tablets, hygiene kits, water testing support, logistics, and volunteer expertise.
